It's interesting to consider the wide-spread practice of child sacrifice by *civilizations* separated greatly by land mass and oceans.

The great debate: Are we base in our nature or angelic? Examples like this are why I come down on the Augustinian side of the argument. I, of course, remain hopeful that grace brings forth our better nature, but it is a constant battle. Now I'll wait for the Thomists to disagree.
