@ljsdesign - Australia is phenomenal. If you're moving because you want to pay taxes through the nose - save your ticket money... if the Dems win the election - you'll be paying as much here, perhaps even more.

Good, maybe some of it might make it's way to the schools.

And pay for the war, and social security and....

Don't hold your breath, ljsdesign... of course even if it did - it won't solve the education problems we have. There are plenty of countries that spend FAR less than we do per student and they have much better results. Schools' problems aren't due to lack of funds.

Don't forget welfare & all kinds of programs, countries etc. that shouldn't be funded.

But instead of a tug of war ,may I suggest, a return to the subject. Jeb Bush , possible candidate for president.

you're right there, ljsdesign... ok, straight & simple - considering the amount of anti-Bush sentiment on the left & in the press, considering that most people aren't happy with the way the war was going and considering the fact that people forgot what 'bad' is all about (although they had a glimpse of it in the last election for Congress) - chances of Jeb being nominated are nil. It's not that difficult to see. It might be wishful thinking on the part of the 'left', since they'd definitely win the next election then, but it's not reality that'll manifest itself, IMHO.
