It now appears that the premises of this fictional movie isn’t all that far-fetched. In the film, Vincent Freeman, a character played by Ethan Hawke, was born with a congenital heart condition, which nullifies his chances of living his life’s ambition of space travel. Vincent is one of the planet’s last "natural" babies born into a genetically enhanced world, where life expectancy and disorders are ascertained at birth. Myopic and due to die at by around 30, he has little chance of success in a society that now strongly discriminates by genetics rather than gender, race or religion.</P></blockquote><div style="height: 2px; font-size: 2px; background: #dcdcdc; border-bottom: solid 1px #f5f5f5; margin: 2px 4px;"></div><blockquote style="text-align: left; padding: 0px 8px; margin: 4px 0px 8px 0px; background: transparent; border: none;" cite="http://www.dailygalaxy.com/my_weblog/2007/12/the-rise-of-the.html"><P> In an interview with Technology Review, Church explained that so many rich people were contacting their genetic lab asking to have their genomes sequenced that he figured he may as well start up a side business to keep the well-to-do out of the researchers’ hair.</P></blockquote></div><div style="margin: 0px 6px 6px 4px;"><table style="font-size: 11px;border-spacing: 0px;padding: 0px;" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" width="100%"><tr><td style="background:transparent;border-width:0px;padding:0px;"> </td><td align="right" style="background:transparent;border-width:0px;padding:0px;width:107px" width="107"><a href="http://clipmarks.com/share/6EF40C37-E056-4BE0-A7C1-FB921B7CFFCE/blog/" title="blog or email this clip"><img src="http://content7.clipmarks.com/images/c2b-foot.png" border="0" alt="blog it" width="107" height="17" style="border-width:0px;padding:0px;margin:0px;" /></a></td></tr></table></div></div>
