Part of what fuels it is it's fringe nature. That is why I believe measures, such as banning symbols, books, etc, are counter productive.

Imho the situation in east germany was caused by the history of this part of our country. People first lived under a fascist, then under a socialist regime for long time, and after that they have been "relieved" into the freedom of capitalizm.
a) During socialist epoch there hasnt been thrown much light on the nazi crimes during the 3. reich.
b) People feel "left alone" by the system and the government, are mostly under-educated and fear everything new and foreign

I live in a part of germany where we have a long history of migration. People from eastern europe, arabia and africa and it's not like the part of germany where a huge problem with fascists is. Although I worry about the east ger...
