Our office is located at the center of the business district so we're used to rallies being staged in the vicinity every few months... Disasters like this don't happen everyday though. I hope those who were hurt are being treated well. haraya - what's this all about? do you know any of the background to this story? i used to live in manila and hung out at quad and glorietta quite a bit! this news makes me angry. my mind's image of makati is being distorted. i remember back in 97 or 98 i was watching a movie at quad and they evacuated the cinema because of a bomb threat in the ladies' toilets. nothing actually happened though. still, after the event they started searching everyone's bags at the entrances of malls.....i remember them searching my bag with chopsticks! hahaha! seriously though, i hope this does not escalate. awww, i miss manila! Hey mona, I don't go to Glorietta that much but my friends and I like Greenbelt. The two are near each other so the thought of having half your body blown to pieces is quite painful... 1998? Makati has changed a lot since you last saw it. It will be fine anyway. Makati police (unlike those in other cities) is efficient at handling threats to the central business district.  I have pictures of the damage in my office mail. I suggest that people cross LPG tank off their list of possible causes to the explosion... Come and see Manila again, mona.
