Several of those storms mentioned from last year ran right over where I used to live on the Gulf. We lived there for years and no problems. This was an area a hurricane hadn't directly hit for 50 years. I got the hint from global warming studies, and a scientist we knew who has been researching it, and a few years back sold our house and moved.
Since then my neighbors have had to evacuate 6 times and have suffered property damage.
