John, this year I finally have my act together and started my Thanksgiving Tree. I placed some bare branches in a vase, and cut out some paper leaves. My family and any friends who visit during November can write out things they are thankful for on the leaves and place them on the tree. The more gratitude, the more beautiful the tree becomes. On Thanksgiving Day we will read them out loud to see how much we all have to be thankful for.

My daughter and I already have leaves on the tree. So far she is thankful for flowers and birds. I can't wait to see what other things her heart discovers.

Congrats again on your new job, your personal fulfillment and your sobriety.

This prompted me to go looking for one of my favorite Mutts comic strips. Unfortunately, my Google-fu is failing and I can't find the exact strip I'm looking for, but this one is close: "The thankful heart…will find, in every hour, some heavenly blessings."

A lovely day thanks. I feel privileged to work there and with Jake (not his real name). He's a lovely happy lad and I think I'm a hit The other members of the class team are great and things are looking good.

At the risk of repeating myself I can't stress enough how much I appreciate all the good wishes given and interest shown to me here at clipmarks during both ups and downs.

Mousie, what a fantastic idea. I'm going to do that for Xmas. Instead of decorating my ornamental tree with ornaments, I'm going to hang miniature envelopes containing notes of gratitude for all my family and friends. Thank you for that idea. .
