I'm starting to hate these "elite agile tdd" jerks almost as much as liberals.

I've added some information to clarify what I was trying to say here. In mock conversation, I've actually played the part of the develop many times and sometimes still do. That was actually the reason for me posting it in the first place, I was making unstructured changes. As for refactoring without tests, I didn't say you can't do that. My point was simply that you need to verify the changes somehow.
