Al qaeda does not exist as an organisation, it is a fiction/function of the CIA. But this is odd none-the-less.

Look.

I am not a 9/11 troother/ Al Qaeda denier, etc. Save that crap for the many on here that appreciate it. I don't and I don't want it on my clips. I find it offensive and highly insulting to the memory of men and women who died on September 11th 2001, not to mention the many other victims of the acts of horror they have committed across the globe.

Thanks.

Then take it up with those responsible, pretending that what you think you know is real is far more insulting to those of us who lost loved ones and those who lost their lives.

Since you asked what this conference was supposed to achieve, here is the answer from a website linked in your clip.

In a statement on the occasion of the fourth interfaith conference, which opens in Geneva on Sept. 30 with the participation of religious leaders and intellectuals from several countries, Al-Turki said the Geneva meet is a continuation of efforts that began in Makkah to promote interfaith dialogue.

“King Abdullah’s interfaith dialogue initiative aims at disseminating human values, promoting coexistence of the people of different faiths, spreading the values of peace and security, fighting evil in the world and promoting cooperation between communities,” Al-Turki said.

The ...

Continued from the article:

“If we want this historic encounter to succeed, we must look to the things that unite us: Our profound faith in God, the noble principles and elevated ethics that represent the foundation of religions,” the king told the Madrid conference.

The participants of the Geneva summit include William Baker, president of Christians and Muslims for Peace in the US; David Rosen, director of inter-religious affairs at the American Jewish Committee; John Esposito, head of Muslim-Christian Understanding; Terje Roed-Larsen, director of the Institute of Peace; and Larry Shaw, chairman of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, Mohammad Hamid Ansari, vice president of India;...

I can see your point Antara but there is one thing that really interests me. The connections of the group to support for terrorist funding. One of the major funders of the organization is the Saudi Arabian government. One of the U.S.'s most important allies.

I have yet to notice any Americans stop driving their cars to stop funding terrorists. As much as we talk we do nothing about it. Why do we magically believe the Saudi government is going to change?

This conference seems to be less alarming than driving a car.

I know that's sort of off topic.

I did like this clip because it exposed me to the author of the website, Steven Emerson.

Even the most critical analysts of the Bush Admini...

However, Emerson does receive some criticism. Emerson has been accused of exaggerating the threats posed by Islamists, a willingness "to push an extremely thin story--with potentially explosive consequences," and of "mistakes and distortions." Examples of such stories and errors include an alleged plot by Pakistan to launch a nuclear first strike against India and his claim that Yugoslavians were behind the first bombing of the World Trade Center in New York.

In its criticism of his coverage of the Pan Am 103 bombing, the liberal watchdog group Fairness and Accuracy in Reporting cited the Columbia Journalism Review alleging that passages in Emerson's book The Fall of Pan Am 103, "bear a st...
