London, I'm not against criticising Chomsky or any other "established leftist" but I wouldn't rely on Jeff Rense's vagueness when doing this, I suppose.

In his book "The Conspirator's Hierarchy," Dr. John Coleman named Chomsky as a deep cover CIA agent working to undermine social protest groups. Certainly Dr. Coleman's claims appear validated by an honest review of Chomsky's role as a Left gatekeeper.
This is ridiculous. Anyone familiar with Chomsky's political polemics going back to the Vietnam War will know there's no way in hell he was a CIA agent. I cannot take anything written by the author of this article seriously after he makes such a huge leap in logic to slur someone's name.

I actually don't really care for Chomsky's political writings, I think he plays loose with the facts and I would always, always double-check...

Ways of the CIA can be mysterious I guess...
Anyway, so far, all that I've read from Chomsky (not much but still) is alright to me. I like it. I seriously doubt the CIA would employ a guy like him. What would be the purpose ?

I actually don't really care for Chomsky's political writings, I think he plays loose with the facts and I would always, always double-check if you rely on him to make a factual point
Generallyspeaking, it's good practice to always always double-check any source.

invictus, I am not endorsing Rense, only adding another voice to the debate. is very possible that Rense site is disinformation disguised as conspiracy just to keep people from checking further. and with Guillaume I believe the CIA is capable of right, left, up and down. the point of Rense article is that Chomsky may be a left gatekeeper, i.e. someone who controls left wing public opinion, and as such, a social psychologist with an agenda not precisely transparent.

I like your way of thinking, awareness, paying value to be open minded, your steady resistance to the continuous bombardment of misformation. And I personally think you're among the people with a sharp mind and intelligence, smartly filtering the information. But I'm afraid I don't agree with the points about Chomsky here. I believe what he's been doing is to follow Louis Althusser's approach on "ideological apparatuses of the state" and keeping a careful eye on media as the main disinfo source, strictly controlled by the official ideology. Besides, on many of his works he uncovers the ugly face of the CIA and FBI - the state controlled conspiracy mechanisms. (see "Secrets, Lies and Democrac...

thanks for the compliments invictus
you may be right about Chomsky, I have not enough info
my way is always remain open to all directions, use thinking mind and add 2 + 2, i.e. see patterns and relations and connections. I see observing my own family members and relatives that almost no oen does that. most people just believe whatever the strongest voice tells them. so, keep alert!
