Interesting. As I understand it, this must exploit something in the player, as the mp3 itself is just a data file. keep quick time updated, that will help. i'm a mac user, but i imagine the same for windows media player. but i think people should consider the source before they download. I download mp3s all the time and have never had a problem. Well, this happend to me yesterday with windows media player. I didn't downloaded the exe file and i don't think the mp3 file is capale of doing any damage by itself. It must have activated a method in WMP that is usually used to download codecs. As in everything else on the internet, you have to pay attention and watch what you click. |
