Oortcloud says: If the "Take the Quiz" button doesn't work right go to the source to take the quiz. Feel free to share your scores! I got zero out of 20. Uh... this doesn't work. I click it.. and it wont allow me to start the quiz. It gives me a score of 1 already aswell.. T_T" Trick quiz. But is it a trick really? Or is it an excellent example to those that attempt to declare the bible as infallible and not having contradiction? 20 honest questions taken right from the bible with source scriptures. So easy that even a caveman could understand it. There will always be apologists who will "explain" all the contradictions; they will never be convinced. To those who are amused, it's preaching to the choir. Yes, it is a trick quiz to those who get it (I figured it out less than a third of the way through). I disagree Jorjor, I think that there are alot of people who read and do not comment. Those people draw their own conclusions from these discussions. Do you think I try and convert the likes of willhelm or thunderscot? Of course not. Those kinds of people believe because they want (need?) to believe. It's the silent majority that really need to see this stuff. Many of them may be unaware because they've never been told or had it explained. Most people are indoctrinated with religion from birth and have never really had a chance to see that what they were taught is not as pure and perfect as they are told. Yep! After the first question and surely by the 2nd, the "quiz" revealed it's ignorance and non-understanding of the Gospels. Confuses the novices, but not those who know their Scriptures. Yep! After the first question and surely by the 2nd, the "quiz" revealed it's ignorance and non-understanding of the GospelsYah, it would have nothing to do with showing how contradictory the bible would be when the quiz even gives the exact scriptures to show the contradictions. It amazes me the lengths of denial you people go. You believe because you want to believe. Contradictions? What contradictions? Oh, that one there. Well, you just don't understand the gospels like I do. You must be ignorant. It's very simple for a person, with the time and inclination, to fit the gospels together. Each one is unique, written by 4 individuals, telling (sometimes) different aspects of the same scene. My remarks were not intended to sound arrogant or insulting; only explaining. :~( Yes, it was obvious that these were contradictions. But isn't that the point? Believers will pretend they aren't, that you have to change the meaning of certain words, or re contextualize in order to make the contradiction go away. And they feel that that's fair game. After all, they can't admit to a perfect god having inspired or written something so...wrong, can they? Truth be told; the point is that no god inspired a work so full of contradictions and false information (call it what you like, parable, metaphor, whatever) as to be of any significant value. The point is, if this book were a work of god then such a god would be no more adept a prose (or scripture) than the most fallible ... oh come on..... 0 out of 20... what do you know? written by 4 individuals, telling (sometimes) different aspects of the same scene. And that's just the problem No one person ever sees things exactly the same way as his or her neighbour. Everyone brings their own world view to bear when they describe a scene. That's why I never believe 'factual' History either! The bible is suppose to be a truth about god, the book that ANY person can pick up and find answers to god within. There is no christian today who's knowledge does not ultimately come from the bible. It is the foundation of Christianity. Imagine everything that you know of the Christian god. Now, as an experiment, imagine that the bible were to vanish from history - how much of that god knowledge would remain? Very little indeed - certainly not enough that anyone could attempt to develop a cohesive religion with. That believers try to reduce the importance of the bible and the contradictions, misconceptions, plagiarisms, mistakes, editing, and mistranslations is just ridiculous. This is ... It is not the knowledge in your head, but the love in your heart that makes you a child of the book. Most Christians are like a pebble immersed in a stream for centuries. Surrounded by scripture and preachings; the water in the stream. But, take that pebble from the stream and crack it in two and it is still dry inside. You can talk all you want and still not follow the path in your heart. The irony of your own self debasing statements ... It is not the knowledge in your head, but the love in your heart thatIn other words, to be a successful Christian you must be empty headed. The reality is most of these so called god fearing people are far from charitable. They have missed the point completely. And it saddens me to hear such moral self righteous people mouth off. It is worse than being empty headed, it is organised ignorance. It amazes me the lengths of denial you people go. You believe because you want to believe.Well, it doesn't amaze me. They are also the Bush supporters even while everyone else SAYS that the emperor has NO CLOTHES on! They know little of what JC said and practice less, but they KNOW THEIR BIBLE! They're the type of people that you want on your side, AWAY AWAY out to the side! And they know they're right. VERY VERY RIGHT. Maybe that's the truth! There is nothing there because there's nothing there. j |
