She pursued her Bachelor of Science in Commerce degree and graduated magna cum laude at the same school. She then took her Masteral Degree in Economics at the Ateneo de Manila, her Doctoral Degree in Economics at the University of the Philippines, and further studies at the Georgetown University where she was consistently in the Dean's List for academic excellence.
