alanocu says: The World Heritage List includes 851 properties forming part of the cultural and natural heritage which the World Heritage Committee considers as having outstanding universal value. The list in the clip is actual the table view; there's a list by country here: http://whc.unesco.org/pg.cfm?cid=31&l=en&&&&mode=list Now if only they would quit whitling away at the edges of some sites. Stanley Park in Vancouver B.C. isn't a world heritaghe site but it's sad what they've done to it. They've built roads through it and around it. "Developed Hiking Trails" Build snack bars and restaurants with more planned. And of course parking lots to accommodate all the visitors. Plus there's the old zoo and now Sea World or whatever it's called. And more planned so we can enjoy nature in its purist form in the heart of a city. Perfect title! — Comment removed by moderator — interesting site. Wow, that is some really amazing photography! Nice job, it's so calming just to look at the landscapes! This is sad. I'm 48 years old, and I've seen quite a few sites on the list... but all were in Italy, and all were seen during a one-week vacation just last year. Never saw any on that list before that (unless you count sighting the Statue of Liberty from a jet, 30,000 feet in the air). I've got to get out more. Another clip that shows us more of what we have to lose, unless we start cleaning up after ourselves. Big list. All you have to do to find beauty, is keep your eyes open. I'm sure seeing beautiful things helps improve your memory, they give the memory much better exercise than things like maths tables. This is just an 'awesome' clip! Thank you! Interesting! I like to visit these places and know the history and architecture. thanks for the good comments everyone - pokkets makes a great point, there's beauty all around us; and sometimes it's not always the scenic landscapes; it's the culture, the people, or the history - Also, a long list of beautiful places reminds me that I need to shut down the computer sometimes. |
