Solar City in Alice Springs

Interesting idea. However, one of the major benefits of solar energy (in my opinion) is it's decentralizing of energy.

In effect, each person can be responsible, to a degree, for their own electricity.

This ownership by the individual is both empowering and democratic.

This gives greater responsibility to the individual. I think this is one of the major changes that needs to happen for our consumption to be more sustainable.
