3. Iraqi leaders call for a timetable for U.S. withdrawal, McCain gets caught in a bizarre denial and flip flop. The Iraqis now want us to begin planning our withdrawal -- McCain however wants to stay foooorrreeevvveerrrr. So what does McCain say -- First, he refuses to accept Maliki's statement as being true. Then he concedes that it was an accurate statement, but was probably just a political ploy to curry favor with his own people and WOULD NOT influence his determination to keep US troops in Iraq indefinitely. Yet, McCain in 2004 at the Council on Foreign Relations said that if the Iraqis asked us to leave, we would have to go. No matter what. But that was apparently a younger and less experienced John McCain.

I don't think he wants to stay forever; what he said was he wouldn't mind if we stayed a hundred years. It's equally ridiculous, but I think the Dems made a damaging mistake by twisting his quote.

The Dems sure don't have to exaggerate. I posted a little joke about McCain having Bush's verbal problems earlier. Started already keeps killing any credibility he may have once had. He comes across as a dead set dickhead , sprouts verbal diarrhoea and then tries to cover up the stains with lies, can't use a newspaper, can't interpret the news without advisors, has advisors who are quitters or have no connection between the brain and the mouth. Probably win on the sympathy vote.

If he does win, I'm hooking up with the dolphins, who will definitely be leaving the moment those results are evident.
