masbury says: Is your Rep listed here? 14 Dems in House and Senate profit from policies they oppose What is even more disconcerning are the amount of members in the senate and congress who are invested in the military industrial complex. Funny thing is, I had read a long, long, list of names from a source not very long ago and it has since been removed, so I did several more searches for this and the links to those also came up with "link no longer exists" or has been removed! I did get this http://www.iraqwar.org/micomplex.htm and this http://www.antiwar.com/justin/?articleid=12629 but it is amazing (sickening) the profiteering that occurs both with regard to oil, and war by members of our government on both sides of the aisle! I do not care if private citizens invest in whatever they ple... Make that "diconcerting"! lol, that's what happens when I am talking to someone and typing at the same time YOu know who else should gripe about big oil all those teachers and public employees who's retirement accounts are growing by leaps and bounds. Why would teachers and others gripe about big oil if they are profiting from it via their retirement accounts? Your statement, sillysam, does not make one bit of sense. Sahara, I remember the article you mention, and I was also appalled by it. Here's part of what I clipped back then. Isn't this an example of conflict of interests? Masbury, thanks for the link to the clip. Aklimento, yes, I do believe it would be an example of "conflict of interest" as defined under senate rule XXXVII, however the practice of enforcing these rules has been loose, for lack of a better word (my brain is ready for sleep). The best we can do is try to draw attention to the lack of ethics of those who practice this, make the voters aware, wake them up, and do whatever we can to replace members of our government who practice this type of thing! |
