pokkets says: We often don't know if we want something until we get it, and then find it wasn't what we wanted. Through that discovery, we can start to believe we really wanted something else, and the chase continues, turning goals into hurdles. Often confusing improvement with change. Perhaps another angle could be learning what we need to, but also trying to improve what we can already do well, without neglecting the opportunities to learn from what we can consider to be failures. We can change situations, but changing who we are may not be possible, and if it is we don't have the foresight to make it a likely improvement. "Take paradise, put up a parking lot." This "Is" Is It. A perfect life is being aware of every breath and seeing the world through a child's eyes, happy in just being at that moment. People thinkthe search 4 this "perfect" state of affairs, must start from releasing the urge to use those conditionals like: "IF ONLY I HAD" - "IF ONLY I COULD" .. "ONLY WHEN" .. etc. So as 2observe that setting conditions creates a wishful imaginary future that distances you from "NOW". ( i will do it only if .... it may happen only when .. etc.). Dissolving that "distancing mechanism", may open a new link to a "perfect life" lived in a "condition free" manner. but Bware. past future now & you - may be dramatically altered. What a great thoughts! |
