Aribeth says: -Don't be dismissive if they seem to dislike an outgoing person. -Don't be overly solicitous. -Be wary of topics they may not be comfortable with. -If you want to do something with them assume you're going to have to ask. -Don't take it personally if they want to escape after spending a few hours with you. I have been to both sides.Very interesting site, btw. "Written by a recovered shy/awkward guy" You gotta love him... I said "Don't look at me!" Veronica-bang-bang!!!! Don't take it personally if they want to escape after spending a few hours with you.hahahahahahhaha, I wouldn't take it personally if anyone, much less a shy person, wanted to escape after spending time with me Some of the more beautiful souls I have known in this world have been painfully shy. Sometimes it is taken for aloofness or lack of interest, but for some reason I seem to be drawn to this type of personality. It's probably because I get to talk while they listen, my favorite kind of conversation, hahahahaahahahaha. Believe me Aribeth, if I don't walk around this home or be the life of the party with all my friends, people are asking me what is wrong, de... Leave me alone! Awwww . . . . are u shy baby? BTW John, the video is hysterical. @JW This girl is definitely NOT shy @Mickfinn @Debbie As a recovered shy girl myself(I have recovered years now,but I never forget how it was),I like your attitude towards shy people.I have some shy friends, mostly girls, and I don't particularly like how other people treat them.I especially hate the "are you ok?why don't you say anything?" questions. people are asking me what is wrong, debby, what is wrong?? Extroverts have their off days too you knowThat's very annoying.I mean, people to expect that you have a certain kind of behaviour all the time.I guess that's because most people feel the need to put a label to everyone and everything. Why are they doing this?I ne... People who know me now cannot believe I was PAINFULLY shy growing up. I'll never forget meeting my husbands uncle and his large Italian family and we all sat down to dinner and his Uncle Albert said "Hey beautiful, lemme wipe that gravy off your chin" (I didn't have any on there BTW!) and he reached over with a napkin and wiped my chin! I thought I was literally gonna die of embarrassment while the whole crew of them (my husband, then boyfriend, included) laughed their arses off! But people would be surprised how much shy people will come to life when you talk about a topic of their interest. I purposefully did something to Mick that you should never do and that is ask if you are shy!!! ... I agree. Thanks Aribeth for starting this it reminds me Les Timides - by Jaques Brel The shyer they are, the freakier they are in the bed. |
