Thanks! Just to be clear, it's not just me that's staying on in my current role. All of us djkraz, ericw adamc and {ericskiff}} are staying on in our current positions and we're all continuing on as owners of Clipmarks.

This is a great opportunity for us to continue exploring our vision for a providing people a better way of sharing information online. We have been working on some AMAZING new features that we'll be introducing soon.

The thing that I'm happiest to say is that Clipmarks will be here for a long time to come.

Clip on Everyone!!

Congrats to all the ClipDaddys. While I find the prospect of greater growth here exciting, I also find it a bit... concerning. Whatever changes this will bring, which is inevitable, I hope the soul of the site remains as it is, as free and wide-ranging as the users can make it.

Clip ON!

Why would Forbes be silly enough to want to replace a team that has got it so far? They know better. Leave the reigns with the people with experience like the original designers. The ball got rolling and the idea had looked after itself, with enough scope for improvements. Ever development made by

has been great. I started in Feb, it was good when I started and has only got better.
Forbes may think they're onto something, but only after over 420,000 clippers beat them to it. I can only imagine what it will mean to the development potential and the scope of programming and server upgrades that can be expected. I was thinking that while the cli...

Thank you everyone! I just want to say that while me and the team are all happy about this for personal reasons, we're truly happiest for everyone who loves clipmarks. We are here to stay...and we've got a whole lot of gas left in the tank and a lot left to accomplish.

Also just want to say that i'm sorry for being relatively quiet lately and not introducing much in the new of new features. Between this news and a MASSIVE product extension we've been working on, our time has been fully occupied.

Congrats to the whole CM team!!!!

Big time! I'm glad to feel partially responsible, since nothing was happening in terms of the team getting paid until I pushed the point... several times... and bingo - Forbes saw the light.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!

Very concerning when a large financial/media corporation acquires an independent company. Control is the name of the corporations' game.

The typical cycle of business is that corporations buy up small operators, change them until they are not the same, then a new innovator comes in to replace that original service or demanded product no longer available. Keep that in mind. Some of us left the corporate world for this reason. Resist top-down change and subtle "suggestions" toward their agenda and maintain your own principles that have attracted so many to this tool.

I'm thrilled, really. The mainstream media has to keep up. as convergence continues to proliferate itself throughout newspapers, magazines, television and the web. Clipmarks is and will be part of that convergence.

Ditto.

Clipmarks has been an amazingly useful tool for me over the last year and half, and the community for the most part has been top-notch as far as online communities go.

Your hard work and grand vision has paid off, literally I would assume. Good luck (although I know the team has made its own) during the next stage in all of your lives, as this does mark a turning point in not just the clipmarks site, but in the lives of those who had the vision to create it. Congratulations again, and I am very happy for all of you.

Another thing that is one of the great things about clipmarks, is that big deals come and go, but how many deals get the kind of grass roots feedback that we're getting. With all of the owners as clippers from the start, it's like we've been introduced, and they're more like friends. Entitled to be owners, but seen as clippers.
I've learned a lot of facts, but clipmarks is a unique way to learn about people, with comments and opinions from across the board that can each show their merits. I'm sure we can teach Forbes a thing or two.

One thing I hope the Forbes acquisition does bring about is some form of anti-spam reporting/elimination function. Hiding existing comments and banning from further comments are not sufficient actions. There's a new member who has joined within the past 24 hours, enshia, who has stunk the comments up with spam. I'm posting this to this thread in the hope some note is made, both retrospective in this instance, and forsightful for what's ahead. I'm all for free-expression, but spam and free expression are miles apart.

You are 100% right BartendingBear. This user has been banned from the site and all their comments removed. That said, we definitely need to work out a more preemptive solution, as opposed to just reacting like this.

enshia has been busy and banned from a few sites, seems like the same links to online gaming, with absolutely no relationship to the article.
This was the entry on 'ourword.org' on an article about the prison sentences of sexual offenders

I wondered if the username would show up on 'National security' surveillance database en(shia) that would make them popular
Perhaps a possible spammer could have their username, clips and comments placed in a 'holding tank' links locked, with open access, both for the chance of an incorrect. suspension, and the examples of spam comments, and content so that other clippers can learn what to...

I actually used to think that Clipmarks would be the only place on internet where spammers couldn't thrive (because it is not quick or automatic to post), but it seems we have seen our share of spammers here. I personally do not like to yell spam (because a comment of mine takes the clip to my collection), however, the number of spammers at Clipmarks is very low, I'm more concerned about people's ability to judge nudity, violent and graphic clips.
