Lewis has been discredited -- by his own peers and advanced studies -- as a biased scholar of Islam, but he holds a HUGE influence on Neocons and they listen to him when he speaks.

And who has discredited him? What peers? Name names. And how biased are they?

If someone attempts to agree with the Administration's position regarding the Middle East and Iraq, with a long history of scholarship, are they instantaneously tagged as "neocons" and "discredited"?

I'm getting weary of the knee-jerk put-down of differing opinions as though neocon,conservative, Christian, republican, etc. have become so disdainful as to be beneath evaluation.

Not by his peers, but simply by those who wish to impeach President Bush for the Iraq War. They blame him for building much of the intellectual foundation supporting the war.
