Christian Zionists - at least in the USA - are pretty conservative Christians who strongly support Zionism. Messianic Jews are mostly lifelong Jews who worship Jesus Christ. They would say, I think, that they have begun to follow Jesus and been "born again" in the evangelical sense, but have not left Judaism and still see themselves as Jews. They might or might not be Zionists. But why the hatred of the Messianic Jews to the extent of killing by the non-Christian Jews. Neighbours noted that the family has been holding odd ceremonies at home and the mayor was quick to clear his town of the terrible suspicion that a missionary sect got a foothold there. News reports showed that the neighbours were more curious than they were shocked. It was clear that they sensed that harassing missionaries is a normal act. But because they present themselves as eternal victims, they tend to get a free pass when they are the ones doing the victimizing. And since WWII too many of them have done far too much victimizing. |
