Dear concerned human persons,

I wrote the letter below only a few short weeks ago. I wept in relief when word came of the stay. I was so grateful to find that our requests for compassion and clemency were heard.

Then today I discover this:
Jafar Kiani was stoned in Aghche-kand, a small village near Takistan, Ghazvin, on Thursday July 5th. His partner, Mokarrameh Ebrahimi, is next.

And now I can't stop weeping at the horror of such a death. Brutally murdered for loving a woman and fathering 2 children. Two children who now must go forth in life...

And now I can't stop weeping at the horror of such a death. Brutally murdered for loving a woman and fathering 2 children. Two children who now must go forth in life with no father. Worse, with the knowledge that their father was killed in one of the most barbaric ways imaginable.
And is Mokarrameh Ebrahimi to be next? For adultery, for love, would you stone her too, leaving her children, innocents in the eyes of any God whether Allah or Jehovah, as orphans? While hundreds of thousands of your neighboring Iraqui's die at the hands of Americans and the rival factions in that horror of a war, do you wonder that I stop to write and beg of you, by all the goodness in your heart, tby all that is sacred and holy and right, to stop this?? That my heart breaks at the thought of this Iranian woman's sentence? This woman with whom I have no kinship?
She could be me. I could be her. She is my sister in spirit and that transcends the law of man.
I beg you not just for clemency, but to put an end to this once and for all. Release her to be the mother that Allah intended. To live her live for her children as all mothers do. And stop this barbaric form of punishment. I beg you.
