masbury says: We make ourselves less safe in order to create the illusion that we are more safe oh how so true. if i could pop 10 times i certainly would. humans and their illusions of safety and security... this is why the wake of 9/11 has been so disturbing for me. we're losing so much in order to retain some illusion that harms more than helps (anyway). it harms in so many ways. [divisiveness, hate, culturalism, fear, government control, loss of autonomy and freedom...] the ego... "the great i am"... the lie. Seems the terrorists are winning They are destroying our security and sense of safety. I might say it like this: The terrorists have proven themselves masters at pulling conservatives' chains; it's the Bushites and their ilk who have destroyed our sense of safety. And intentionally so: If we felt safe, we wouldn't give them the power they want. Some how "national security" has been transformed to mean wars of aggression. This is easy to do when the populuous is made to feel paranoid by propaganda that repeats that "radical Islamists that want to kill us all". These new tenents of orthodoxy must be challenged, the evidence is not there, but it is repeated incessantly. |
