I took my mildly mentally retarded granddaughter off of the myriad drugs (including a large dose of Ritalin) she had been prescribed by the multiple doctors she had seen over her lifetime, when she was 15. Through most of her day she was in a drugged stupor. (I was told by one of her doctors that one of the drugs she had prescribed for my granddaughter would leave her permanently neurologically damaged.)
