Other than the lies which took us there and the fallacy that war can be fought against an idea with bullets, this is what has been wrong with the war in Iraq from the get-go. For democracy to have any value at all it must erupt from within rather than be imposed from without.

That's what's wrong with having greedy amoral ignoramuses running our country; they can't understand these simple truths.

And isn't "imposed democracy" an oxymoron? Isn't imposed government of any sort still tyranny?

Democracy is mob law, government by the tyranny of a majority. The founders warned against Democracy which always self destructs. Democracy is not an ideal form of government, the "powers that be" have pushed it claiming that it is "for the people", while it is clearly out of control. The UN is nothing less than "majority rule" (rule of the powerful) over the entire world. I dissent, the majority will not rule me.
