chestnut501 says: Exquisite Crystal Specimens nature wows me again! Yes WOWW!! Purty!! Spectacular! I've always been amazed by crystals and these are phenomenal. And then there is fluorescence. If you haven't seen the huge gypsum crystals in Nat Geo, check it out! http://channel.nationalgeographic.com/episode/giant-crystal-cave-3569/01#tab-Photos/0 Thanks Richclips, Those are just amazing. Those crystals aren't just the biggest ones but they are hundreds of times larger than the next size down. I see that they are going to have a show about the cave on Sunday April 26th @ 4pm. I'm looking forward to seeing it. when i was studying and learning about crystals and rocks using photos, i never understood what's the big deal with them...when i was the first time in a museum and saw the real, natural ones, and imagines that those splendid things of light emerged in the dark belly of the earth, well, that was a different impression...ever since i am in the fan club of the crystals and rocks... Miad20, It's nice to know that others here on clipmarks see the beauty and perfection in crystals that I see. Thanks for the comment. You're a Gem, Chez. Aw Gee, now you made me blush. Thanks Chestnut. Crystals are pretty for sure...i like rocks too, though. I have a rock with crystals on it that went through a fire...sure wish i knew how to clean it. They are a very dark red if i remember correctly. You might find that plain old dishsoap and warm water with a soft scrub brush might do it. You should find it and give it a try, you might have something really beautiful there. hmmm, now you've got me wondering if i've tried that before. I actually found a bunch of different rocks/crystals (must have been somebodies stash) and they all went through the fire. I sort of think i prob have tried that, but i'll try again. And actually yes, it would be beautiful, although i'm not sure it's a clear type of crystal? Let me know how those come out lollipop. Crystals don't have to be clear to be beautiful. Hmm, not sure where i have them...(i have more than one bag of rocks) but i think they're mostly black from it. I'll try to remember to let you know, Chestnut. |
