Colin Powell is most certainly a conservative. Barack Obama is a conservative! 80% of the sitting US government are conservatives, with another 15% or so centrists.

It isn't Powell that left the Republican Party; it's the Republican Party that left Colin Powell. It went from quirky right-wing antiprogressives to dangerous right-wing extremists. It's time for it to die the sloppy, messy, demoralizing death it deserves. Time for the US to have a conservative party AND a liberal party for the first time in 150 years, instead of 2 conservative parties.
