Just a few shots from the May 2 early morning hail storm that I threw up on the internet. They really devastated my wife's flowers and left some small dings in the hood of my truck. The wind was blowing so hard that they were hitting the glass door and windows on the west side of the house.

n2sooners I'm not sure of your exact location, but I remember a time when I lived in Edmond, OK - seeing softballl and baseball size hail - car windshields were smashed-out; It was so many years ago though, and I was just a kid; don't remember much more about it

some of the hail in your photos looks sizable enough to hurt

For some reason it hails a lot at my house. (is that an omen? LOL) I've never seen hail much bigger than your photos, N2. I can't imagine hail the size of baseballs, much less softballs! I do remember about 15 years ago driving in a hail storm. Before I could pull over, I was sure one would come right through my convertible roof.

My little girl gets very excited when it starts hailing. We sit at the big window and watch it fall. Amazes us every time.

Sorry about the dings in your truck, N2.

I have seen pictures of really large hail, but I think the largest I have seen in person was between golf ball and baseball sized when I was a teenager. I have seen quarter sized and smaller many times, but this is the first time I have had noticeable hail damage on one of my own vehicles. I'll probably wait until it gets nice and hot outside and try to pop them out with some canned air or dry ice.

I am just glad all the windows in the house survived. That hail was coming down sideways and making quite a racket bouncing off the glass. Enough to wake up everyone in the house.
