I would like a list of names posted of the ones that shot it down so we all know who to replace in 08. Why reject the children? Children are our future! We want that list ! Someone please post the list ! I looked on www.house.gov and haven't seen anything posted yet about today's vote. That will have your list when they finally post it, though. I agree with ya, though... Hopefully when "The childrens do learn", they don't learn about this vote. DISGUSTING, and Bush is the most disgusting, vile, uncaring, Non-Christian President in history. You can say that again debbyski ! I just wrote my congressman, and I urge everyone else to do the same. "It is an outrage when our own children do not mean anything to you. I cannot see any good in what you have done, and see where your priorities truly are. You care nothing of the children, and only care about how fat your wallet is going to get. No matter what you do now, the people "WILL" remember ! "YOUR FIRED!" It's amazing that my congressman gets reelected. However in my red state people have been voting against their own best interests for years. My congressman rabidly defended credit card companies and votes against ensuring children's health. Way to go Republicans. The Senate should not have expected this bill to pass as it was written. SCHIP money is currently being mismanaged. Some states are spending more than half of their SCHIP funding on adults. So, it isn't all about the children. Middle class families need to be responsible for making health care for their children a priority. Families earning 83,000 a year should be financially able to pay for healthcare. As a taxpayer, I don't want my taxes raised to pay for other peoples children I would be paying for healthcare for people making more than myself. The bill also needs to exclude noncitizen immigrants from being eligible for the benefits. The six million children already receiving hea... S-chip is a Republican program. The Bill was vetoed because it was an effort at expanding the program to the point that it would hurt the poor because fewer dollars would have been allocated to their needs. The President supports the program and will increase funding to the program when the Libs in Congress quit playing politics with the lives and medical needs of poor children. Bush's proposed increase would have allocated much more money to the poor than would the Democrat's plan. The Democrats are seeking only to expand the program to include the people the Dems call wealthy when the argument is about taxes. There is your hypocrisy! If this was such a Democratic Liberal program why did 16 Republican Governors support the bill? According to recent polls, 86 percent of the American people support reauthorizing SCHIP, with seven in ten saying they support the Democratic plan to expand SCHIP by $35 billion over five years. ( I know that includes Republican conservatives). |
