I am all for free speech, equal rights, and specific freedoms. BUT.......this is one cause that I cannot support. It is not a gay issue, really, people should not have sex in PUBLIC restrooms. rather than fighting for the right to have sex in a public restroom (which, i agree, no one should be doing!) we (gay, straight, bi, trans, and allies) should spend our energy fighting for a society in which there is NO NEED to sneak off to bathroom stalls or park woods, rather we can ALL be always open about our sexuality and embrace it for the gift that it is. All they have to do is change the definition of CIVILIZATION and/or DECENCY. I read this article, and I note that it doesn't say anything about anyone actually encountering this behavior in public restrooms. The only evidence the article sites is a website encouraging people to have sex in the restrooms. I also note that the article tries to give as little information about the grievances of the gay activists protesting the mayor. Since a group spokesperson accuses the mayor of having a dirty mind, I am guessing that the gays are not demanding the right to have sex in the public restroom, as the clip's title says, but rather they are accusing the mayor of making unfounded generalizations of gays and scapegoating them for "crimes" that may not actually exist. Nothing about encountering this behavior ? Are you really that ignorant ? The rest of your comment answers my second question. Typical redirection about an OBVIOUS problem everywhere. Ermm forget the gay thing for a moment...why shouldnt we all be able to have sex in public if we want, imagine if we did what would happen? (Im not saying we should but whats so wrong with something so natural and normal we are after all just another animal) The degradation of society continues. There was an article a couple of weeks ago, (with pictures of the 'animals'...g-r-o-s-s), about an arrest of a male/female who were having sex in the median of a highway. Urinating and defecating are normal and natural too- does that mean we should all have to witness it when we don't want to? How about vomiting- it is normal and natural for the body to vomit under certain circumstances- like say, pregnancy? Do you want this to happen "anywhere we want"? Should we be able to walk into an eating establishment and see births, deaths, vomiting, defecating, urinating, and sex? How about cannibalism, infanticide or pedophilia?
