willhelm says: "We also hear that it is the free market that is to blame. But the facts show that it was the government that pressured financial institutions in general to lend to subprime borrowers, with such things as the Community Reinvestment Act and, later, threats of legal action by then Attorney General Janet Reno if the feds did not like the statistics on who was getting loans and who wasn’t. Is that the free market? Or do facts not matter?" Of course we know that the facts do indeed matter. If they did not, then the media, the left, and the ignorant herd would not try so hard to shout them down and ignore them. The question isn't "do the fact's matter?". We can also see a clear picture of which side benefited from the mishandling of the entities which led to this mess and which side did not. We can also see which side has been calling... deb, if you are interested in the facts and the truth, then you are going to have to do better than "fact check".org. They have NO credibility.
