jatfla says: The internet lets us see for ourselves. Those who are not blinded by racial intimidation scenarios can see the professor was the ass in this story, along with obama of course. A white guy, saying two black guys were wrong, I must be a racist, do not pay any attention to logic. You've got to be kidding me. Being arrested for being in your own house? You're justifying that? I'd love to see it happen to you. Racist? You are a racist, and an idiot. Logic? You don't know the meaning of the word. You people are so embarrassing. Your stupidity has screwed our country for years to come, but you'll never learn to shut your mouths and learn. Too bad that professor didn't have home cameras running, then we'd probably see that this "report" is every bit the lie that most of their reports are. "Being arrested for being in your own house" That statement proves beyond a doubt the one spewing "stupidity" is you, and that you are in fact the "idiot." ---------- Further, when the alarm for my house went off a black police officer arrived, I explained to the officer that I lived here and she told me she needed to see my ID to verify that I was who I said I was which I provided happily and that was the end of that. If I had been a racist like Prof. Gates things may have turned out very differently. He wasn't arrested for being in his own house. And if you notice one of the pictures, he is being lead away by several officers...including a black one. Two weeks ago I had a brush with some police officers who had come to investigate a purse snatching in a grocery store parking lot. (I got my purse back & she got her t-shirt; she was NOT going to steal my stuff!!) They were excellent and as professional as they come. While there are some rogue police officers (we read about them here on clipmarks) most of them are dedicated and truly believe in the law and public safety. Those who love to "question authority" and see racism behind every word/deed will find something to rant about. To me, this is less about race than about abuse of authority by a cop: Read Crowley's report and stop on page two when he admits seeing Gates's Harvard photo ID. I don't care what Gates had said to him up until then, Crowley was obligated to leave. He had identified Gates... The woman who called the police indicated that she saw two men with backpacks. Gates eventually did identify himself (as did Crowley twice) but where was the second person that the lady had mentioned...perhaps inside unbeknown to Gates? The officer was there to investigate the call after all. "Gates told me that the house was unsecurable due to a previous break-in attempt...". Hmmm.... So why was one of the back-packed men seen *apparently* trying to wedge themselves into the door? It also seems appropriate that Crowley would want to make sure that there was no one illegally inside the house. You've got to be kidding me. Being arrested for being in your own house? You're justifying that? I'd love to see it happen to you. Racist? You are a racist, and an idiot. Logic? You don't know the meaning of the word. This arrest did not occur inside Gates' home - the idiot continued his moronic behavior after exiting his home - pretty stupid for such a scholar. You comment is more nuttier than Gates' action. To me, this is less about race than about abuse of authority by a cop:Why does it not surprise me? |
