Jarrette Schule, from Comal County in the US, said: 'I had never seen it before. I looked at it, and it kind of looked like a missile launcher.'

Well, it actually was a missile launcher. The clue being not just in its design, but by the words 'Guided Missile and Launcher, Surface Attack', which were written down the side.

'I don't know if it fell out of something or if somebody just dumped it,' added Mr Schule.

Fortunately for him, the anti-tank weapon was unarmed.

Deciding that the military hardware looked a little out of place in his house, Mr Schule phoned the military police at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio to find out who it should be returned to.
