oscarrob says: And so, the point is even more clear-cut than it might seem at first glance: Just because "John McCain sat in a cockpit on a flight deck during the tensest five days of the Cuban Missile Crisis, that doesn't mean he absorbed the slightest bit of wisdom about how to handle a crisis from the top." Just being a fighter pilot or a POW doesn't mean you are ready to be president. Nobody really is and this whole experience thing, on both sides, is an enormous red herring. Amen. Watching him bug-eye, jerk around, and teeter on the brink of control during the last debate makes it abundantly clear that he does not have the temperament for the job. Imagine him bugging his eyes and gaping at Vladimir Putin. Especially considering that exploring into McCain's past shows that he was a screwup fighter pilot and a sellout POW. American Hero, my eye. (Speaking of my eye; I expect at any moment to be flamed by the blind and ignorant) Terrorism; the use or threat of violence to achive a political end. By our definition of terrorism, John McCain is a terrorist for dropping bombs on people in Vietnam in order to persue a political goal, which, as history has shown, was a terrible failure. One of the current hoaxes of our pro-military (thoughtless) media is they now describe every soldier as a "hero." Every soldier is not a hero. A hero is someone who does something special, "over and above and beyond the call of duty." But calling them heroes helps to sell the war. It's like now how the pro-military (thoughtless) media has two categories for our troops: peacekeepers or peacemakers. Peacekeepers and peacemakers? Are these actually the new words for "defending a position," and "attacking." ? It's very chilling when you think about it. |
