I hope they all wear kevlar I'm so sick and tired of American prejudice. there should be no prayer on Capitol hill If you are ever looking to find a liar and a hypocrite, look towards any Christian. At least Christians don't kill their critics. Yes they do, hahaha. They bombed entire countries for it. oort: I don't think of myself as a liar and a hypocrite, and I hope you don't think of me that way, either. Perhaps the generalization is a mite overstated. mmm mmm mmm! Either nobody prays or everybody gets to pray. It's just that simple. oort: I don't think of myself as a liar and a hypocrite, and I hope youLOL....oh yes....your comments are fine for any Christian except the wonderful and humble Masbury On the contrary, I know many Christians who are neither liars nor hypocrites. "I'm so sick and tired of American prejudice." jmatts Do you stop and think long enough to consider that perhaps it is "caution".........and not prejudice? ........there is HISTORY to consider! There is a lot of history on both sides to consider--remember how we put Japanese Americans into concentration camps after pearl harbor for no reason, crime or justification other than they were of Japanese decent. What are you afraid of people praying, eh? Masbury, the reason Christians are liars and hypocrites is that their belief demands it. There are many things that make them so. As an example - evolution. Any Christian that claims it is not true is a liar. Granted, some are just woefully ignorant, but I think we can all agree that even if most haven't heard or read the truth they aren't really interested in hearing it anyway. They have their "truth" from the pulpit so intellectual dishonesty plays a large part in their desire to preserve their belief. Homosexuality - while the bible does have a few passages on the subject, it also has many other demands that believers are quite happy to ignore because it is convenient to do so. This mak... Oort: 1. Is it possible to be wrong without being a liar and a hypocrite? 2. Perhaps I'm missing something, but it seems like every argument I'm reading here is an argument against extremism. I also oppose the views you describe. I don't believe in the Christianity you don't believe in, either! (Which is why I posted the clip, BTW.) The very nature of Christianity is a lie. The believers have to choose dishonesty over truth in order to believe. They've had many truths explained to them, but they choose to ignore them. Sure, its a blanket statement, but again, show me a christian and I'll show you a liar. If its not one thing, you will eventually find something that they choose to ignore in favor of their blind belief. OK. Thanks for the conversation. I do enjoy your observations. |
