We have that in common, Alan, my aunts (my dad's sisters) are identical twins and my mother had twin brothers who died in infancy.

My aunts are also on my dad's side of the family. My dad used to say that the other twin would never survive long if one of them died before the other. I'm not sure if the chance of having twins is something genetic that runs in your family. So far, they have been the only ones in mine?

Now you know why I don't have kids (Besides, I'm the happy 'parent' of a dog and a cat, and that's about all I can handle ) My aunts live within walking distance of each other and although not 'inseparable" they are very close. I think though they are emotionally independent enough to survive the demise of one of them. Talking about demises, my father had a heart attack last night and is in the ICU. Fortunately it happened in front of me so I could act immediately. He's stable, but I'm not. Hence I've taken refuge in Clipmarks today, trying to distract myself from worrying. And that's why I'm so garrulous right now.

Michelle, thank goodness you were there when it happened. I'll say a prayer for you and your father. I can imagine you must be feeling really upset now. Hang in there and keep me posted. I'll do a better job at checking my clip comments.

I can make a clip letting everyone know if you'd like. I'm sure many others could help with some support or some kind words.

Thank you so much Alan and Bignose. (Not necessary to do that, Alan, I just felt like sharing it with you on your clip, but thank you for the suggestion). Whatever happens, I take comfort in knowing that my dad knows he is dearly loved by me and that there is no unfinished business between us. I'll keep you posted.

Alanocu, I've been spelling your name incorrectly all this time, sorrrry!

Michelle says her dad is still in ICU, holding his own. She'll updates us later today after she visits with him. Seems like good news...

It is so stressful when someone you love gets suddenly ill isn't it Michellezm? You start to question all the things that are important in life. I hope your father is on his way to a speedy recovery honey. I'll certainly keep you in my thoughts and in my prayers in the meantime though. Good luck sweetie.

Thank you all for your kind wishes, thoughts and prayers. I'm happy to report, according to my dad's cardiologist, he is making progress. Although he is still in the ICU he is improving. Of course my dad is reveling in all the attention he's getting. He simply loves being pandered to and pampered. He is one of only two patients in the ICU unit and so he has a lot of nurses in attendance which he is loving let me tell you! And as he is such a charming man, they seem to be quite smitten. Well, at least they're keeping his pulse rate up. Thanks once again. I'll keep you posted.

This could explain how one identical twin can be afflicted with a
disorder while the other twin remains fully healthy, according to the
scientists.
I went to school with identical twins. One had spastic-hemiplegia and the other was neurologically normal. I can see that what is stated above is very true ... each twin is an individual and identical in many ways at the same time.

Michelle, very glad to hear things are on the positive side. I'm sure you must be stressed-out to the max, but good that your dad is getting as much attention as possible at the hospital! I'm sure that if he's as nice and as kind as you, he must be a superstar patient and they are doing all they can to make his stay successful. Thanks again for the update!
