I've only read the clip that you posted but I agree that the core doctrines of the Christian faith have either been completely set aside or distorted to where they bear little resemblance to orthodox Christianity. If anyone tries to revere Jesus Christ at all they pick & choose which words they want to accept and disregard those they don't. And they still want to claim that they are Christians.

From what I read and see among certain denominations, they are fudging on all of those. There is, indeed, the choosing from the "salad bar" of Christianity.

Oprah's influence is vast and unquestioned--so much so that it scares me! For many years, her work was admirable, but the platform she gives to so many questionable individuals spouting so much psychobabble, is obviously a reflection of her new role as an evangelist. Oprah (and consequently her followers) have adopted a world view that encourages the acceptance of "truth" on ones own terms according to ones' comfort quotient.

With religion, rather than watering down--or even contradicting-- the message, isn't it better to align with the one that most closely represents your beliefs? After all, we are not supposed to have all the answers, just faith. The Bible warns us to not be swayed by other doctrines. I choose Christianity...a fellowship of imperfect beings with a perfect savior. The message is clear but the path isn't always easy.
