Rashid Malik says: Two of my colleagues also fell in the trap. I'm dubious of most security stuff. I'm clean of that anti virus offering. Thanks anyway Rashid. Its not an anti virus at all. It infects when you click on an ad stating that your pc might be infected. After that you are offered to download the anti virus and then the trouble begins. I am very conscious of my pc's security. So I use Zone Alarm Pro firewall and then NOD 32 anti virus to keep me safe and sound. And these two have not failed me so far. What do you do for your PC's security? I seldom click on ads and never on ads like that. That's why your PC is free of all kinds of infections, Jorjor. Nice advice for all of us. I have three computers in my home and I run RegScrubXP, CCleaner, and Ad-Aware 2008 every morning before doing anything else. I also run AVG anti-virus scan while online and rarely come up with any virus. Firefox has been the greatest help in blocking ads so that I don't worry too much about viruses. Thanks for the list, you can never be too careful with viruses. I personally feel safe with NOD 32 keeping my system safe. And I also use CCleaner (great software! Good work periform). For spy ware and alike I rely on NOD32. Firefox with noscript keeps my browsing safe. EasyCleaner is also a nice free tool for keeping your system neat and clean (it can be downloaded from http://personal.inet.fi/business/toniarts/ecleane.htm). Thanks for sharing your security settings. |
