I don't think it's an online app but a local app, that allows note taking plus local web clipmarking and bookmarking all in one. a blend of clipmarks, stumbleupon and a smart notepad

Love Evernote! I'm quite certain they're planning on a web edition this Spring! (checkout the blog).

I have been using EverNote since last year and in fact one of the reasons I like in Clipmarks is its similarities with EverNote A very useful program.

BTW, for a more complex notes management tool with an excellent library module is Scholar's Aid (I clipped it yesterday.) Of course, EverNote is for daily practical use while Scholar's Aid is for reports, papers, researchs or book manuscripts.

I popped your Scolar's Aid clip yesterday and am about to check it. Everything about EverNote is so well done, from form to function.

EverNote email options is only pop mail (local), not web based email. This is a serious limitation to my needs.

This sounds like exactly what I was looking for when I stumbled across Clipmarks (I was looking for something to replace the Notes feature in Opera because I wanted to change browsers).

bunnicula, it's local, not web based, so it cannot replace Clipmarks

Oh, I know. It just sounds like Opera Notes, which I used to use and like before I found Clipmarks. I love that Clipmarks is web-based, but I do miss being able to write my own notes...

I agree bunnicula, sometimes it makes me feel good to have all my clippings and notes offline. Besides, you can't appropriately clip all the web pages with Clipmarks but Evernote mostly do well. Especially the IE and Firefox buttons are very handy.

Godfrey, I also recommend to download the 30 days trial version of Scholar's Aid 4AE. It has much more functions and if you like it, you can upgrade your copy for a reasonable price.

Be nice if Clipmarks and Evernote and scholarsaid all could exchange data easily.....transparently.....magically

Unfortunately, the latest version of EverNote is incompatible with FF 1.5.1.

Do you have MrTech's Local Install? One of the best extensions available. It can probably force compatability. I'm running 1.5.01, so I can't say for certain.
