Heh, yeah the flyby tested patience, since it was on auto-pilot and had to fly behind Mercury...taking the pictures, but losing contact. Plus, the pictures weren't sent for several days, and I believe they are still slowly streaming in.

About 80 minutes afterwards, the spacecraft captured this image. Showing about half of the unseen side, the spacecraft was 27,000 kilometres away when it took the picture.
