Instead of answering this question, I'm going to tell you why it's a stupid one. There is no such thing as a universal stupidity that exists across all societies.

Ignorance and stupidity are two different things. You can be both at the same time, or just stupid, or just ignorant.

What better time to post this than on July 4th--the majority of 'Murrikans are not only ignorant AND stupid they are highly sensitive about anyone who criticizes this consumerist, fat, lazy, war-loving, greedy, resource-wasting, still-racist country.
