In combination with ongoing alternative-energy contracts in Ontario and British Columbia, the Alberta purchase makes Wal-Mart Canada the nation's largest commercial purchaser of green power. In 2007, the company will operate the equivalent of 15 stores emissions free, through the purchase of green power from solar, wind and low-impact hydro sources.
