Good one! BS, speedometer show actual speed. The author apparently mixed speed with RPM, that can be in red zone, more than 3000 in such situation. Even jokes have to be true-like.. Wheels were slipping on the ice or snow, speedo still works! I had to ask a friend about this. . They say, that if the car is front wheel driven (and those are wheels that are are spinning), the speedometer should move. If it's rear wheel driven, and those are the wheels that are spinning, then the speedometer won't move, as the wires are supposedly connected to the front wheels. If it's a four wheel drive and all the wheels are spinning, the speedo should move, too. That's their theory, anyway. Good call otherwise, aklimento. I learn something every day. I know NOTHING about the mechanics of cars whatsoever! . Good to have trustful friends, TN. They and vk2yoc (and you, sure) absolutely right, I didn't think about difference from front and rear wheels driven. Recalled my own entrapment in Colorado blizzard on ice covered highway - then was rear-wheeled truck. That's a funny story! |
