And how the hell do you get 85,000 after 5 years of war in a devastated country, bombed like it was...and still is. Whatever the true number of innocent civilian dead is, it's blood on Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld's hands. And the fools who voted for and supported this war, Dems, Rethugs, voters, non-voters alike.

Well, for one thing there are many government and humanitarian groups that approximate that number more closely in line with the number I provided.
The reason I believe it is threefold (1) I have no political reason, like you, to hope for the deaths of 2 million. (2) Don't ya think we'd hear more about the 2000 deaths per day, on average, considering we hear every account of a roadside bomb that kills, maims, or injures a couple of dozen? and, (3) The estimates I read do not come from Soros funded propaganda mills.

And if it's not a million but half that--Is that acceptable to you...The numbers are less important than the reality of a country we destroyed and will take decades to rebuild (for obscene profits by 'Murrikan busnesses--deals currently bein' negotiated by the State Dept. and Big Oil).
