Don't forget, Nixon was re-elected in a landslide just a year earlier. I was in college, and remember sitting in front of a TV watching the returns in disbelief, thinking, "He really has fooled them all."

Just as then, now there is too much influencing our elected officials that create this shadow government. We have allowed candidates to sell their power to the highest bidder. Corporate America, the military industrial Complex, and foreign interests have bought and control this government. Until they return the power to the people (never) this country belongs to them. You are their either their slaves or their henchmen, doing their bidding. There is nothing they will not do to maintain power over the vote.
