Do you think McCain is not a Neocon? A Neocon would be more likely to say - more jobs, more war, and be an embodiment of our current corporate-totalitarianism.

I will say that it is highly probable that he is not a neocon. HOwever, McCain is quite the paradox. The comments he made recently regarding his conservative principles were quite compelling in that they left little wiggle-room for him. He stated unequivocally that he will not sign any bill with earmarks in it, that he will not pursue amnesty for illegal immigrants until the nation agrees that the border is sealed, and so on..

I think it is possible McCain could be the anti-neocon if he becomes president and be more of an emobodiment of the New Right establishment of many years ago.

I respect Buchanan but I think his displeasure is more about the possibility that McCain is not cut from Buchanan's own conservative cloth ( and mine, frankly ) than he is about McCain being a neo-con.
