a drug would have to be on the market for two years before it could be pitched directly to consumers.
If natural remedies were also included in this it would go a long way to shutting down the racketeers that feed of the vulnerable over such things as slimming, penis size, etc.

Sounds like a good idea. You can't get them unless you have prescription which means that you could not tell the difference between one and the other. And they spend billions on adds that then you see reflected in the pills price. Seeing both of my parents struggle to pay for their medicines, I say enough with the stupid commercials.

This nation needs to stop buying into all the lies that are prevalent in 99.9% of commercial TV adds. We can by not buying their products and by not watching the stations that run these commercials with their false and misleading adds.

There have been many anecdotal tales in stories in the media about patients going into their Dr.'s office and requesting a prescription for a drug for which they display absolutely no particular need whatsoever. Who benefits from such successful advertising?

It occurs to me that if the drug companies wanted to fund a pool to pay for advertising promoting awareness of a particular condition or disease for which they offer a medication so as to make the public generally aware of the availability of drugs to treat that condition they might be suffering from, without mentioning particular medications... that would be OK. Never going to happen, but OK.
