AcesLucky says: Hmmmm. At least he puts his money where his mouth is. Religion is a lucrative business. I'm sure he'll make his investment back and then some. Met him a few times, he was a very nice person. I suppose when you have that fame and money, it is bound to alter your views in a lot of ways. In Malta if you go to the church's there, you have to follow the same procedure. Indeed Oortcloud, religion is an extremely profitable business and the flocks are regularly fleeced. It's the love of money and power that's at the root of all the rot in the Christian church. @ Amergin. How did you meet him? I must confess, Mel is my favourite actor and I still maintain he's the handsomest man who ever lived. Met him on the set of Braveheart. I like Mel as an actor as well. He's been a favorite ever since I first saw him in Mad Max and Road Warrior and was totally sold in Braveheart, Ransom, and Payback. What he does in his personal life is his own business and I try to ignore the media hype that surrounds him and other stars. However his activity in religion does overlap my concerns and interest in that area so I find myself at odds with him on that matter. I'd still go see his movies, regardless of my disagreement on religion with him I might have. |
