Appears racist statements by "sections" of the GOP are gaining international attention. They will, till the GOP wants right more than it wants power, and drums it out of town.

Racism and xenophobia are classic hallmarks of Neoconservatism. Until the Republicans kick the neoconservatives out of their party, no one is going to take them seriously.

Best way to do that is to develop policy based on past ideology. Makes it possible to become unattractive to the unwanted elements. Then again, this would probably create a vacuum.

But they do it in the name of liberty, don't forget that! That's what makes it all ok!

No, technically, the GOP does it in the name of Freedom, at the expense of Liberty. They want people to have the freedom to do whatever the hell they want, which directly interferes with people liberty from harmful and unsafe situations. The GOP is actively dismantling Liberty and Justice in the US.

No, I think liberty is the correct term here. I was referencing a video Willhelm clipped a while ago, "Why are Conservatives so Mean?" Either way Liberty includes freedom of speech and all that, freedom from government control, yadayada. It just makes these people even bigger hypocrites because, like you said, they are actively dismantling liberty at the same time.

I have to disagree. That's Freedom that you're talking about. Liberty is being free of gun-wielding lunatics threatening you in your government, your city or your neighbourhood. As it's being interpreted now, the Freedom to Bear Arms is a direct threat to the Liberty of people in the US. There's a reason why both Freedom and Liberty are invoked when talking about the US Constitution, because they are not the same thing. Freedom is the lack of restrictions to do something. Liberty is the prevention of something being done to you. They are similar, but not quite the same thing.

Popped, by the way.

Huffington Post ran the watermelon outrage event several months ago. Grose isn't a racist, he forwarded a sad, weak-ass joke that he didn’t even get. I was not aware of this stereotype until HuffPo educated us. But that's no surprise. They see it daily in their comments section from their loyal readers. The Times should have worked through the research on that, but keeping up with your allegations would be futile.

The other guy, with the cartoon eyballs, is a cretin, he is WRONG, worse than David Letterman, worse than Bill Maher, and worse than a U.S. President abusing fe...

Don't believe I've ever advocated any of the positions you say Democrats advocate. I'm not sure I know anyone who does. I have no interest in any kind of sexual activity with Ms. Palin. What racism has to do with fellatio in the White House - well, face it, it's just changing the topic in order to say "Nyaa, nyaa!!"

Big white eyes, watermelons, black people are lazy - these are stereotypes left over from the days black people were called niggers. That these people are unaware of it suggests willful ignorance of how racism works. As Michael Steele has said, many GOP leaders just don't "give a damn" about racism.

Not being aware of the racial implications of one's actions is an essential ...
